Thexder for the ColecoVision is a homebrew adaptation developed by Team Pixelboy, based on the 1985 original from Game Arts.

This reimagined version brings the iconic side-scrolling mech shooter to the ColecoVision home console, capturing the intensity and challenge that made Thexder a standout title in its era.

In Thexder, players take control of a lone space soldier piloting an advanced Hyper Dual Armor mech. Originally part of a squadron tasked with infiltrating and destroying an alien central computer base, the mission ends in disaster—your team is annihilated, and you are the sole survivor. Trapped deep inside the enemy complex, you must fight through 10 perilous levels filled with deadly automated defense systems and relentless alien drones.

The game combines fast-paced shooting action with strategic transformation mechanics, allowing players to switch between a humanoid mech and a high-speed jet form. Mastery of both forms is essential for survival as you navigate intricate mazes, manage limited energy resources, and battle overwhelming odds.
