The Black Onyx, developed and published by Team Pixelboy for the ColecoVision home gaming console, is a faithful adaptation of the pioneering role-playing game originally created by Bullet-Proof Software.

Widely regarded as one of the first Japanese RPGs, The Black Onyx offers players an immersive fantasy adventure filled with danger, exploration, and strategy.

Set in the mysterious town of Utsuro, players assemble a small party of adventurers determined to locate the fabled Black Onyx—a mythical gem said to grant eternal youth and unimaginable wealth to whoever possesses it. To succeed, players must explore the town and its labyrinthine underground tunnels, equip their heroes with powerful weapons and armor, and engage in tactical turn-based battles against a variety of monsters.

Experience points are earned through combat victories, allowing characters to improve their strength, defense, and magic abilities as the quest deepens. Each encounter demands careful planning and resource management, as the perilous dungeons grow more challenging with every descent.
