TRON: Maze-A-Tron, developed by Mattel Electronics for the Intellivision home gaming platform, draws inspiration from Disney’s iconic motion picture TRON. In this thrilling game, players assume the role of Flynn, a young programmer trapped inside a computer system by the villainous Master Control Program (MCP). The MCP is bent on world domination, and it’s up to Flynn to stop it.

The game is divided into two main stages: the Circuit Maze and the Master Control Program showdown. In the Circuit Maze, Flynn must navigate a sprawling digital labyrinth, collecting energy to power his force shields, which protect him from enemies in the deadly ROM fields. He also gathers zeroes to clear RAM chips, which are vital for progressing through the system.

After surviving the maze, Flynn confronts the MCP itself in a high-stakes, fast-firing laser battle. In this stage, players must disable pairs of BIT streams and BIT stacks before they reach the top of the screen, all while the MCP attempts to restore its control over the system. Only by using the powerful Bit-Gun and Flynn’s super-intelligence can players hope to overcome the MCP.

TRON: Maze-A-Tron offers a challenging and immersive experience, combining strategy, action, and the intense atmosphere of a digital battleground. Will you have the skill to outsmart the MCP and save the system? Or will you be consumed by the deadly circuits?
