Mr. Do! ColecoVision Game – Classic Arcade Action & Strategy

Mr. Do! is a classic arcade-style game released for the ColecoVision by Coleco Industries. Players take on the role of Mr. Do, a cheerful elf who lives in a magical garden filled with fruit, enemies, and constant danger.

The objective is simple yet challenging: collect all of the cherries scattered across the screen while avoiding relentless enemies determined to stop you.

To survive, Mr. Do can use two main strategies. He can push apples onto enemies, crushing them for points and safety, or he can throw his powerful “power ball” to defeat them. The power ball is a unique weapon but comes with a limitation—it must return to Mr. Do before being used again. This creates a balance of offense and defense, requiring players to time their moves carefully.

Adding to the challenge, alpha monsters occasionally appear carrying letters from the word “EXTRA.” Defeating these monsters grants letters, and completing the full word rewards players with an additional life. Progression is achieved by harvesting all cherries on a level, which then unlocks increasingly difficult stages filled with faster enemies and tighter strategies.

Mr. Do! combines fast-paced arcade action with puzzle-like tactics, making it one of the standout titles for the ColecoVision. Its mix of resource management, timing, and risk-reward mechanics offers a unique gameplay experience that continues to appeal to retro gaming fans today.
