Mr. Chin is a quirky and entertaining action game developed by HAL Laboratory and released on the ColecoVision home console by CollectorVision Games.

Known as “China’s Proud Plate-Spinner,” Mr. Chin takes the stage in traditional attire with the goal of keeping as many plates spinning as possible while avoiding chaos caused by mischievous rascals and falling dishes.

Gameplay challenges players to balance and spin multiple plates at once, gradually increasing the difficulty as more plates are introduced. The objective is to keep every plate spinning while preventing accidents that could bring the performance to an end. Success earns players applause and recognition, while failure results in dropped plates and lost progress. The mix of humor, timing, and skill makes Mr. Chin both a lighthearted and demanding arcade-style experience.

Mr. Chin also holds historical importance in the ColecoVision library. It was the first official release from CollectorVision Games, marking the company’s entry into the retro gaming scene. Although CollectorVision’s first unofficial title, Winky Trap, appeared in 2007, Mr. Chin’s release established the studio’s reputation for producing high-quality games for classic hardware.
