In January 1977, RCA released the Studio II dedicated home video game console. It came pre-loaded with five games and featured a slot for use with the 11 cartridge games produced for the system.
It had no controller but instead utilized two built-in numeric keypads. The Studio II had a very brief shelf-life, as it performed poorly against the Fairchild Channel F and the Atari 2600. RCA discontinued the console in 1978, after especially poor Christmas sales.
