Time Traveling Economic Adventure
Enter the captivating world of time travel and economic challenges in Philips Videopac Take the Money and Run. Players find themselves trapped in the Land of Keynesium, a futuristic era deeply intrigued by 20th Century economic life. To escape, players must navigate over a trillion mazes built by Keynesians, each populated by robots representing economic factors of the past.
Turn $500,000 into a Million:
The quest for freedom begins with $500,000 in hand. In this economic maze adventure, players must strategically navigate seven kinds of mazes—Income, Reward, Investment, Expenses, Thief, Taxes, and Inflation. The goal is to turn their initial funds into a million, unlocking the pathway back to their time. Failure means eternal roaming in Keynesian mazes.
Diverse Maze Challenges:
Encounter diverse challenges in each maze type. In Income, Reward, and Investment mazes, players chase robots to gain money. In Expenses, Thief, Taxes, and Inflation mazes, players must evade robots to prevent monetary loss. The game introduces strategic elements, requiring players to adapt to different maze dynamics and economic factors.
Dynamic Money Counter Mechanism:
Navigate the mazes while keeping a close eye on the dynamic money counter at the bottom of the screen. The counter displays varying money values at the start of each maze. Whether gaining funds by catching robots or avoiding losses by eluding them, players' economic fate hinges on their performance, creating suspense and excitement.
Height Dynamics and Speed Variations:
Experience height dynamics as players' characters are two times taller than the robots. Ducking becomes essential in certain maze portions, altering movement speed. Ducking enables smoother navigation, allowing players to pass through low-ceiling sections at 2/3 normal speed. Fail to duck, and movement speed drops to half, adding a strategic layer to the gameplay.
Challenging Maze Navigation:
Mastering maze navigation is crucial. Touching maze walls hinders movement, adding an extra layer of challenge. Colliding with the opponent player while touching a wall results in loss of control. The intricacies of maze navigation add strategic depth, making each decision impactful in the quest to accumulate wealth and escape the Land of Keynesium.
Multiplayer Interaction:
Take the Money and Run offers multiplayer interaction as players compete in economic mazes. The dynamic multiplayer element enhances the challenge, creating an engaging experience where players not only navigate intricate mazes but also contend with each other in the race to accumulate wealth and secure their escape.
Unique Blend of Economics and Adventure:
Philips Videopac Take the Money and Run stands as a unique blend of economic strategy and adventure on the Magnavox Odyssey 2. This game transcends traditional genres, offering players an immersive journey through economic mazes, time travel, and the quest for financial freedom in a futuristic realm inspired by Keynesian principles.
