Knightmare for ColecoVision – Retro Vertical Shooter by Team Pixelboy

Knightmare is a retro vertical shoot-em-up released for the ColecoVision home gaming console by Team Pixelboy.

Rooted in Greek mythology, the game tells the story of Popolon, a brave warrior who must face an onslaught of demonic forces to rescue Aphrodite, the goddess of love and beauty.

The adventure begins as Aphrodite is imprisoned in the Nightmare Castle, lair of the King of the Underworld. Determined to save her, Popolon embarks on a perilous journey to Mount Atos, the gateway to the castle. Along the way, players must guide him through relentless waves of enemies drawn from myth and legend.

Gameplay centers on vertical shooting mechanics, where precision, reflexes, and strategy are key to survival. Demons of all shapes and sizes fill the screen, challenging the player to dodge, attack, and endure as the difficulty escalates. The march toward the castle is unforgiving, but victory brings Popolon closer to reuniting with Aphrodite.
