Illusions is a surreal and unconventional puzzle-action game released for the ColecoVision home gaming console. Developed by Nice Ideas, a creative division of Mattel located between Cannes and Nice in France, and published by Coleco Industries, the title stands out as one of the most experimental releases on the system.

In Illusions, players control animated blobs, guiding them around the screen with the goal of merging them together or splitting them apart. The gameplay is unpredictable and filled with unusual interactions. Lizards appear to chase the blobs, while the environment itself introduces dynamic elements. For example, spilling a bucket of water can transform a lizard into a fish, which, if left unattended, eventually changes into a bird. These surreal transformations give the game a dreamlike quality that sets it apart from more traditional puzzle or action titles of its era.

As one of the few games to embrace surrealism on the ColecoVision, Illusions offers a distinctive gameplay experience that challenges players to think creatively rather than follow standard arcade mechanics. Today, it is remembered as both a cult favorite and a rare example of avant-garde design in early home console gaming.
