Challenger is a retro sci-fi shooter developed by CollectorVision Games for the ColecoVision home gaming console.

In this fast-paced action title, players take control of a futuristic spaceship on a high-stakes mission to survive waves of incoming energy-based threats.

Your task is to navigate the ship across the playfield, avoiding deadly energy rings that continuously appear. Colliding with these rings results in an immediate explosion, ending your run in a burst of dazzling color. To stay alive, players must use their reflexes to dodge and blast the rings using the ship’s three-directional guns, which fire forward and to both sides.

Movement is limited to left and right, placing emphasis on timing, quick reactions, and tactical positioning. The challenge increases as the rings appear more rapidly, testing the player's ability to multitask between movement and directional firing.
