B.C.'s Quest for Tires II: Grog's Revenge

B.C.'s Quest for Tires II: Grog's Revenge, developed by Sydney Development and published by Sierra On-Line for the ColecoVision home gaming console, is the direct sequel to the popular side-scrolling game B.C.'s Quest for Tires.

Continuing the adventures of Thor, the wheel-riding caveman, this title introduces new challenges, obstacles, and gameplay mechanics in a prehistoric mountain setting.

In this installment, Thor must collect enough clamshells to pay the toll needed to cross from one mountain to the next. The journey is anything but easy. As he navigates narrow ledges, players must avoid hazards like falling rocks, deep potholes, and hungry rolling dinosaurs that can destroy his stone wheel. Adding to the danger is Grog, a powerful and unpredictable character who will send Thor flying if they come into contact.

Players can use tunnels to move between ledges, but these paths are dark and filled with hidden threats, requiring careful timing and quick reflexes. The game combines exploration with action-platforming and introduces more vertical level design compared to its predecessor.

Based on the B.C. comic strip by Johnny Hart, Grog's Revenge retains the visual charm and humor of the original while expanding the gameplay with new challenges and a more dynamic world. It stands out as a creative and engaging sequel within the ColecoVision library, offering a mix of strategy, skill, and comic-themed adventure for retro gaming fans.
