A.E.: Anti-Environment Encounter is a homebrew arcade-style shooter for the ColecoVision console, developed by Programmers-3 and released by CollectorVision Games in 2012.

Inspired by the classic Space Invaders, this title introduces a unique twist with a pseudo-3D visual perspective and dynamic gameplay elements that challenge players to defend Earth from relentless alien attackers.

In A.E., players take control of a horizontally-moving laser cannon positioned at the bottom of the screen. The objective is to eliminate waves of incoming alien enemies that drop bombs in an attempt to destroy the planet’s defenses. Points are earned by successfully shooting down enemy units before they reach or destroy the player.

What sets A.E. apart is its increasing difficulty curve. As players progress, alien swarms begin to split into separate formations, launching attacks from multiple directions. This escalation in intensity demands quick reflexes, precision, and strategic movement, making each level more challenging than the last.
